Shooting as good along the Great Ocean Road with conditions good for a 12 apostles … I also visited the heavily wooded area of Otway National Park for a series of images taken of some waterfalls and dense forests/trees … With a busy week a head I hope to have these images online on the main site  Spool Photography within the next 7 days for please be on the look out for new works by myself …

Large Framed Australian Landscape Images

Recently I had a request for a size of image I do not normal do. The client wanted the image to be a certain size and aspect ratio. After a couple of attempts at finding the right size and ratio we settles on 70 inches by 40 inches. Sending the file off to print I was a little nervous about the size. While everything looked good on the monitors, one still has a little reservation on printing this large until the final product is seen and inspected.

Well after printing I was very happy with the result, and then onto the framing, again nervous about size and type of frame that would be used. Earlier today I was able to see the final product before delivery to the client and I must say the size and scope of the print and subject matter was stunning and while I am always hesitant to pipe up and sing a little praise about my work but this time I will for a change. I think the final product from landscape photography, to the print quality from my printers and framing from the framer Chris at Leamac is as good as anything I have seen before in a landscape photography print and framing anywhere.

The clients final product ….

Queensland Beautiful One Day Perfect The Next

Not much wrong with that saying. While I have visited Queensland many many times over the past 20 or so years it only has been in recent years I have taken my time and look at the photography before the vacation aspect of a Queensland break.

This was taken one evening on the way back from visiting a few waterfalls during the day and while the days shooting was not very good due to poor light, the evening was more of a success … A sunset overlooking the Australian Bush looking over towards the Pacific Ocean …

Abandonment On Hwy 395

Recently I added an image to my Facebook Page that was quite a departure from my normal type of image. While I had taken the image some 2 years ago the post production was never completed for a number of reasons, one being I had a complete mental block on the image until recently … The original posting on the Facebook Page was somewhat darker in a number of areas and a few folks had mentioned that I could do with lightening up the left corner a little more … Thus leading to this posting of the new post post production of the image …

Thanks to those that helped put with the constructive critique and artistic approach of this image to enable this image to get to where it is right now … One of my favorites in recent months ….

An OId Table & Chairs …

Something a little different this time round .. While from time to time I launch out of the box I live and expand what I am doing within my level of photographic knowledge. Recently I worked on a few image to try and make them look like images that Ansel Adams would of taken in the 1930′s ie my homage to Ansel Adams via the Cliffs Of Yosemite National Park or my attempt at at 1970′s National Geographic cover image Seasons Flow both of which found an enthusiastic but oh so small audience.

So this time round it is something a little similar yet a little different from myself … I named the image 1930 although this was being used as kitchen well before 1930, but I named it 1930 because of the almost empty cupboard of food, something that would of been very common in 1930 …

enjoy and/or flame away :)
