A Winters Sunrise

First up thanks once again to all those nice people that have purchased a print from myself over the last month, its folks like you that keep this site alive and enable me to venture out and capture those moments we are sometimes in our busy lives just too busy to see.

My next up to blog is a simple image I took in the winter of 2010 between winter storms along the southern coastline of Western Australia. I chose a square composition for this shot as i had taken plenty of panoramics of the area and was looking for a more intimate shot of the location …

Mono Lake California

While I have seen hundreds of images from Mono Lake and I took hundreds as well with the few hours I had there as well most I find have a similar tone unless shot in winter. I remember taking this well past sunset when a majority of the crowds had left for the day. With just a few photographers scattered around the shoreline we pretty much had the place to ourselves bar the howling coyotes in the distance.

I had taken several images before this series of images and was still looking for the right angle and time for the perfect shot. Mono Lake itself is a huge area and lies below sea level so the water is very salty and only really home to brine shrimp, flies and migratory birds that come to feed on the flies and shrimp ( yuk )

I am looking to having this printed at around 60-65 inches and mounted for my own home, maybe in my study or lounge …

Christmas Orders and Delivery

Just a quick note I am very thankful to all those that are placing orders for my photography prints over the last few weeks. Local and overseas demand has outstripped that of this time last year and I have been kept busy.

To those thinking about placing an order please do so before the 9th December so I can have your order printed and in the mail before Christmas … Orders placed after the 9th December may not be mail to you before Christmas … And remember all Facebook Orders get 15% discount just mention “Facebook15″ for the season sale price
