This was taken one evening on the way back from visiting a few waterfalls during the day and while the days shooting was not very good due to poor light, the evening was more of a success … A sunset overlooking the Australian Bush looking over towards the Pacific Ocean …

As some may know I am a big admirer of good quality Black & White landscape photography and recently I have not produced much in the way of new black and white images, one being the landscapes have to lend themselves that way and I have not really been in the right locations to produce this, and secondly I have been working towards trying to improve through tone my black and white images. For me black and white photography is less about the absolute black and white and more about achieving tones within the zones more specifically zones 2 and 9 ( zone 2 black with hint of detail – zone 9 nearly white ) ….

Here is my latest attempt and trying the pull the viewer into the forest … I called it forever because hopefully these California Redwoods will be around forever ….

With more rain than I can ever remember living in Western Australia the farms east and south of where I live are looking stunning at present. Lush and green they are a delight to photograph seeing as though for around 10 months of the year they are either brown or just plain dust bowls.

Heres a single shot I took earlier this week while out and about scouting West Australian farmland.

This image will be made available for purchase through my “Open Edition” section of the website that is not too far away from being released …
